ABOUT US
History of St Catherine’s Anglican Girls Grammar School Owo
In the beginning of secondary school education in Owo Division of Western Nigeria; girl-child education was not considered as essential, hence the first secondary school to be established in February, 1946 was Imade College, an all male school. The all male status of Imade College denied many young girls who had passed out of primary and modern schools the opportunity of secondary education where they could qualify to obtain the West African School Certificate and thereby gain admission into higher institution.

You can help end poverty for good by sponsoring a child
“Children who experience poverty during their upbringing encounter formidable obstacles such as hunger, malnutrition, restricted opportunities for education and healthcare, as well as social discrimination and isolation. However, through the generosity of individuals like yourself, we have the capacity to provide children with the essential elements they require: healthcare, education, life skills, job preparation, and self-assurance. By collaborating, we have the potential to eradicate poverty permanently, both in their lives and within their communities.”
Lasting impact
Children raised in impoverished conditions face numerous added stressors and adverse influences. Your assistance during this crucial period positively impacts children during the initial two decades of their lives.
Good that grows
Supporting a child through sponsorship offers them a chance to look beyond their daily hardships and equips them with the skills necessary to make a positive impact on their families and communities.
Poverty free
Your role is pivotal in helping underprivileged children overcome their most significant challenges, including maintaining good health, accessing education, and securing stable employment within the formal job market.
